Olga Benito
Olga Benito Ramírez is an accomplished harpist, currently based in Finland, who began her musical journey at a young age in Barcelona, Spain. From the moment she first touched the harp, Olga demonstrated a natural aptitude and quickly decided to pursue it as her life’s passion.
Olga holds a bachelor's degree from ESMuC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya) in Barcelona. After completing her studies there, she moved to the Netherlands to earn her first master’s degree at Conservatorium Maastricht, studying with renowned harpist Masumi Nagasawa. It was during this time that she deepened her interest in historical harps and interpretation. Olga then furthered her studies at Sibelius Academy in Finland, where she obtained a second master's degree under the guidance of Päivi Severeide and Stefania Saglietti-Couto.
Currently working as a freelance harpist, Olga regularly collaborates with prestigious orchestras, including the Finnish National Opera, Tampere Filharmonia, Kaartin Soittokunta (Finnish Guards Band), Jyväskylä Sinfonia, Lahti Sinfonia, and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. In September 2024, she joined the faculty at Sibelius Academy (Helsinki) and Savonia (Kuopio), sharing her expertise with the next generation of harpists.
Throughout her career, Olga has had the privilege of studying with leading harpists and pedagogues such as Päivi Severeide, Stefania Saglietti, Emmanuel Ceysson, Masumi Nagasawa, Isabelle Perrin, and Anneleen Lenaerts, among others. She has also earned recognition in several competitions, including second place at the Concurso Permanente de Juventudes Musicales de España (Spanish Youth Music Competition) and the 9th Stockholm Music Competition in 2023.
In addition to her live performances, Olga embraced the challenges of the pandemic as an opportunity to explore the world of music recording. Self-taught in microphone techniques and audio editing, she has since expanded her creative horizons by producing her own recordings. Her work is now available on Spotify and other streaming platforms, bringing her artistry to a global audience.
